YOGA 101
Our next Yoga 101 series will be held on Monday evenings from 5:15 - 6:30 PM from September 8th through October 6th.
This 5 week beginners series is inclusive for all ages, shapes and fitness levels and is designed to teach you the fundamentals of yoga in a safe and supportive environment. You will learn the basics of posture alignment, breath work and meditation and by the end of the 5 weeks will feel confident stepping into any yoga class.
This class will be lead by Vibe Yoga founder and Owner, Melissa Coppola. Melissa got her 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate in 2016 and opened Vibe Yoga in 2020 with the vision of offering a safe and inclusive space where people could feel free to be themselves. She prides herself in making yoga assessable for all body types, believing that this practice can be healing and empowering for almost anyone.

For the first week of Yoga 101 we will focus on connecting movement to breath, spinal alignment & movement and learning Warrior 2. Click on the links below for instructional videos of each pose.

For week 2 we will learn Down Dog and Crescent Lunge and build off of our Warrior 2 foundation explaining the difference between neutral and externally rotated standing poses.

For week 3 we will explore Warrior 1 as well as different backbends. We will also learn the importance of neutral and counter poses after doing backbends.

For week 4 we will focus on the hips, learning the different movements of the hip and how to stretch all of the muscles around it.

For our final week we will learn Sun Salutations A & B by review poses from the first 4 weeks and adding in Chaturanga and how to step forward from down dog.
